Interested in applying for a position on the Diamond Mountain IHC for the 2007 season?

You must first register at the DOI Firejobs website.  There are very good instructions at the website that will help you with the process.  You can also call the crew at the phone number listed above, for more information.

The Diamond Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew was formed in 1992 by the Bureau of Land Management to meet the increasing needs for agency fire resources.  Located in Susanville, Ca. the crew is hosted by the NorCal BLM.  In 1993 Kurt LaRue was hired as Superintendent, coming to the crew from the Stanislaus Hotshots.  Kurt was instrumental in building the Diamond Mountain Hotshot program.  The backbone of this program was and is a mountain used for physical training referred to as “Mo”.  Kurt moved on to Fire Management Position in Boise, Id. for the BLM in June of 2001.  Ed Merrill filled as Crew Superintendent during the 2001 Fire Season and became the official Superintendent in 2002.  Ed continues to maintain the exact standards set forth by Kurt LaRue established in 1993.  The Diamond Mountain Hotshots have and will continually strive for excellence in the future in any all risk situations.

Mission Statement:

The Diamond Mountain Interagency Hotshots are a highly respected, conditioned and professional national all-risk management resource. We strive to maintain the highest standards for training, work ethic, and Fireline effectiveness. Through communication, motivation, and a commitment to the standards and traditions set by earlier hotshots, the crew will continually work to maintain a level of excellence in any and all situations.
