The purpose of this website is to collect and share the rich history and tradition of the California Interagency Hotshot Crews with the general public. It also provides a format for firefighters and the general public to learn more about our crews. This site was created and developed by the California Interagency Hotshot Crew Superintendents. It was not created to show disrespect for any other crews. Please show some personal integrity when sending e-mails.

This is NOT an official government web site, and the funding is provided by private donations.

This website is the creation of the California Interagency Hotshot Crew Steering Committee, which was established in 1976 at the first California Hotshot Superintendents Workshop. The committee was formed to ensure that information on safety, training, and technical issues were shared within the Hotshot community. The committee also provides the California IHC community with a united voice. This website will also preserve the California Hotshots tradition and history.

Don't let this history disappear!
We are always looking for updated and additional information in regards to any of the crews listed, particularly the disbanded crews. We welcome any input you may have, no matter how small it may seem and we encourage you to write to us via email.

Did you know.....that there are THIRTEEN CA IHC's that have their own websites? You will find links to their sites ( Some official, some not) on our Links page.
